Introduction:
The Women’s Empowerment, Rights, and Inclusive Sisters (WERIS) Alliance formerly known as the Puntland Women Inclusion Organization (PWIO) was founded in 2022. WERIS is a pioneering nonprofit organization dedicated to the empowerment, advocacy, and inclusion of women with disabilities. WERIS Alliance operates with the conviction that disability should not be a barrier to achieving one’s potential and that every woman, irrespective of her abilities, has the right to lead a fulfilling, empowered, and dignified life.
