What We Do

What We Do

The Women’s Empowerment, Rights, and Inclusive Sisters (WERIS) is a dedicated organization working to advance the rights, dignity, and wellbeing of women with disabilities and other vulnerable women. Our work focuses on empowering women to become active participants in social, economic, and community development.

WERIS provides advocacy, capacity-building, and support services that help women overcome barriers and access equal opportunities. We promote inclusive policies, strengthen leadership skills, and ensure that women with disabilities have a strong voice in decision-making processes. Through awareness campaigns, skills training, and community outreach, WERIS strives to create a society where every woman—regardless of ability—can thrive, access her rights, and live a life of independence and respect.

WERIS works in the following key areas

Skills Development

We strengthen the skills and capacities of women through livelihood training, vocational programs, and economic empowerment initiatives.

Education

We promote access to education for women and girls with disabilities, ensuring inclusive learning opportunities.

Training & Capacity Building

We provide trainings on leadership, life skills, financial literacy, and community engagement to enhance women’s confidence and participation.

Women’s Protection & Care

We support vulnerable women through counseling, referrals, and access to essential services that improve their wellbeing.

Prevention of Violence & Harmful Practices

We work to prevent gender-based violence (GBV), female genital mutilation (FGM), and other forms of abuse through awareness campaigns, community dialogue, and protection services.

Community Awareness & Inclusion

We raise awareness on disability inclusion and gender equality, promoting positive attitudes and supportive environments for women and girls.

Through these efforts, WERIS continues to uplift vulnerable women, empower their voices, and create safe and inclusive communities where every woman can realize her full potential
